Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly, runs inside your browser. The engine is downloaded once; your video is read, processed and saved entirely on your own device, and no copy is sent anywhere.

Is there a limit on file size or length?

There is no quota and no watermark. The practical limit is your device's memory: files of a few hundred megabytes work well on most computers, and a file larger than about 2 GB is more than the in-browser engine can read reliably. For a very long recording, cut it into parts first.

Why is the first job slower?

The first job downloads the FFmpeg engine, about 31 MB, and your browser keeps it for next time. After that, jobs start straight away. Processing time then depends on the length and resolution of the video and on your processor, since the work is done locally.

Can I download videos from YouTube or Instagram with these tools?

No. These tools only work on files you already have, such as your own recordings, camera files and screen captures. They do not download or fetch content from any platform.
