Hide a logo on footage you own
A channel logo you no longer use, a timestamp the camera burned in, a sticker added by mistake, a mark on a clip you made yourself: sometimes you need something off your own video. Drag a box over it and the tool smooths the area over, blurs it or covers it with a black box. It runs on your device and nothing is uploaded. Use it only on footage you own or have the right to edit.
Use it on your own footage
Logos and watermarks on other people's videos are there for a reason. Taking someone else's mark off their work can break their copyright and the terms they published it under, and this tool is not meant for that. It is for footage you made, material you hold the rights to, or clips whose owner has given you permission to edit.
Smooth, blur or cover
Smoothing fills the box by borrowing the pixels just outside it, which works best for a small logo over a plain or gently changing background and can leave a faint smudge on a busy one. Blurring hides the detail but shows that something was there. A black box is the most reliable and the most obvious, and suits timestamps and details you do not want anyone to read.
Tips for a clean result
Make the box as small as you can while still covering the mark, because only the inside of the box changes. Smoothing needs a few pixels of picture around the box, so keep it away from the edge of the frame; if the mark touches the edge, blur it, cover it, or crop it away. The box stays in one place for the whole video, so a mark that moves is not followed.
Corner marks and cropping
A mark in the very corner can sometimes be cut away instead with crop video, which loses a little of the picture but leaves nothing behind. Afterwards, make the file smaller with the video compressor or cut it to length with the video trimmer.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I remove a logo or watermark from a video?
- Drop in a video you own, drag the box over the logo and resize it to just cover it, choose Smooth it over, Blur or Cover with a black box, and press Remove logo. The tool makes a new MP4 with that area changed.
- Can I remove a watermark from any video?
- Only from footage you own or have the right to edit. Removing another person's watermark from their work can infringe their copyright and breach the terms they published under. This tool is intended for your own clips and for material whose owner has given permission.
- What is the difference between smooth, blur and cover?
- Smooth fills the box from the pixels around it and can look almost invisible on plain backgrounds. Blur softens the area so the detail cannot be read. Cover paints it black, which is the most reliable way to hide text or a timestamp.
- Why does smoothing refuse a box near the edge?
- It needs a few pixels of picture around the box to copy from. Move the box inward a little, or choose blur or cover, which work anywhere. A mark at the very edge can also be cropped away.
- Will it follow a moving logo?
- No. The box stays in the same place for the whole video, so it suits marks that do not move, such as a corner logo or a burned-in timestamp.
- Why is there a faint smudge where the logo was?
- Smoothing guesses the picture behind the logo from what surrounds it, and on a busy background the guess shows. Use a smaller box, choose blur, or cover the area with a box instead.
- Does the rest of the video change?
- Only the inside of the box. The picture is re-encoded once at a high quality setting and the sound is carried over as AAC.
- Is my video uploaded, and is it free?
- Nothing is uploaded. The video is processed in your browser with a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg, and only the engine is downloaded the first time. It is free, with no watermark, no account and no limit on how many videos you edit.
